Acumenica are absolutely delighted to have been appointed accountants for Bo’ness United Football Club. The Club were previously with a firm in town and sadly fell victim to the well documented problems at that firm. Acumenica swooped in and very quickly fixed things and have averted any future problems.
Alan Broome, director at Acumenica Group said “it’s a bit of a thrill for me to have had my firm appointed to the club. Although our head office is in Grangemouth we’ve a great presence and history in Bo’ness. My dad played for the club in the fifties and my mum’s uncle was Andrew Smart who was club secretary for a number of years. And I was at the Darvel, Cumnock, East Kilbride and Baillieston finals as a very, very young lad.
More than half the Acumenica team live in the town and this gives us a great opportunity to get closer to the town’s business community which has been poorly served in recent years.”
Martin Argent, United’s treasurer said “We met with Alan and his team last week and I felt instantly comfortable. We’re confident that we’re in good hands and we’re getting real professional oversight of the club’s financial position. Hopefully this will be a long term and fruitful relationship.”
